Ireland When To Go

Peak Season: July to August
July and August are the warmest months, schools are on holiday, and it’s festival time, all of which adds up to large crowds and high hotel rates. Planning ahead is essential as whole towns can book up solidly for events like the Galway Races at the end of July.
Off Season: November to February
While it rains year round in Ireland, the climate is generally mild and temperate with no extreme temperatures and rare snowfall. Hotels offer great deals.
Sweet Spot: March to June; September to October
Often blessed with surprisingly pleasant weather, shoulder season allows you to see the country without summer’s hordes. With dryer months in spring and long, bright days continuing into September, these are perfect times to get the region all to yourself. You can also enjoy two great holidays that originated in Ireland: Halloween (October 31) and St. Patricks Day (March 17).
