Close to Kingston, Norman Manley International Airport (KIN) has a new passenger pier enabling the separation of arriving and departing passengers. In Montego Bay, the renovated Sangster International Airport (MBJ) is three miles from the city, a stone's throw from the beach resorts and 90 minutes to two hours away from the major resorts in Ocho Rios and Negril along the newly renovated main highway A1.

In fall 2009, JetBlue, Delta, US Airways, and AirTran launched nonstop flights from various U.S. cities (including New York, Phoenix, Atlanta, Orlando, and Baltimore), making the island more accessible than ever. Air Jamaica flies nonstop from several U.S. cities, including New York and Miami. Flights between Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios are offered daily by Air Jamaica Express.
