There are seven airports in Israel, but nearly all international flights go through the new Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), located 45-minutes west of Jerusalem.
Airlines
Israel’s official national airline is El Al, but two new national airlines have emerged in recent years: Arkia and Israir. Dozens of airlines offer service from the U.S., but try El Al, Continental or Israir for direct flights.
Flight Times
Direct flights from New York’s JFK run around 10 hours. If you have a layover in Europe, tack on at least two more hours.
