Ljubljana When To Go

Summer is tourist season in Ljubljana. Warm, perfect, 80-degree weather draws travelers from around the globe, resulting in higher prices at hotels and restaurants. Unfortunately, the summer months are also the time when locals head to the coast for their own vacations, leaving some bars and dance clubs closed for the season and, consequently, leaving the city feeling a bit dead.

Winters in Ljubljana are rainy and cold (around 32 degrees) – weather that tends to keep most visitors at bay.

In the spring, before the locals flee the city, and in the fall, just after the summer tourist crowds have left, are the best times to experience Ljubljana. The weather is still nice enough to linger outdoors and soak up the atmosphere of the city, hotel prices are reasonable, and the streets are abuzz with locals.
