Martha's Vineyard When To Go

Peak Season: June to September
The summer is Martha’s Vineyard’s “it” season, with the population increasing by 87-percent and prices skyrocketing nearly 30-percent. Book hotels at least three months in advance and reserve top restaurants two weeks in advance. Temperatures average in the high 70s.
Off Season: December to March
Things slow down considerably during the winter when vacationers return to mainland life and temperatures drop into the 30s. Although some places close, the majority of establishments stay open and considerable discounts can be had on hotels.
Sweet Spot: April to May; October to November
Spring and especially Fall are great times to see the Vineyard without the crowds and the stratospheric prices. With the temperature fluctuating between 50 and 60 degrees, the beaches are often warm enough for swimming (or at least sunbathing).
