Middle East: Getting There

Airports Start your journey at Dubai’s International Airport (DXB) since nearly every carrier flies through here, with the exception of Israeli carrier El Al, which flies to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV). And with several new low cost airlines, it’s easy to fly between the region’s Arab  capitals. Some countries even have airports in their secondary cities.

Airlines Fly direct to Dubai from New York City with Emirates Airlines, or from Atlanta with Delta. For Newark straight to Doha try Qatar Airways. El Al and Continental fly nonstop to Tel Aviv from New York. Fly direct to Amman from Chicago, Detroit, and New York with Royal Jordanian. For low cost regional flights, try Air Arabia or Jazeera Airways.

Flight Times 11 hours direct from New York City to Tel Aviv. For Damascus, Beirut, Cairo, Sana’a, Manama, and Amman you should tack on another 2 hours for a European layover. 13 hours direct from New York to Dubai.
