Milan Tips

Plan carefully
Take time to plan your itinerary before you arrive – Milan is a big city, and it’s easy to miss the best of what’s on offer, especially if you’re only there for a couple of days.
Getting around
The best way to get around is by metro. Not only is it affordable and easy to use, the three lines connect all important parts of the city. Avoid taxis, which are even more expensive than those in New York.
Night owls
In true European style, many clubs do not open til around midnight, so bear this in mind when planning a night out. On weekends, some haunts even remain open until dawn.
Opera lovers
For individuals hoping to catch a show, note that the La Scala opera only runs from November to July.
Museums
Be aware that many close on Monday, including Santa Maria della Grazie and Pinacoteca Brera.
Closed weekends
Be aware that some restaurants and bars close on the weekends.
