Montenegro When To Go

Peak Season: July-August
Holiday-makers flock to the Montenegrin coast, attracted by the sunshine, fine beaches, and a warm sea. Hotel prices rise accordingly, reservations are essential and many resorts are overcrowded. The average coastal temperature is 82°F; in the mountains its 70°F.
Off Season: November-April
Many coastal hotels and restaurants close during the winter, so plan your journey in advance. Seaside temperatures average in the 40s, but mountain temperatures can drop to 32°F. From December through March, skiing is possible in inland resorts like Kolašin.
Sweet Spot: May-June; September-October
For many people, this is the best time to visit—the weather is reasonable, the sea is warm enough for swimming, and the beaches are not overcrowded. Hotels, restaurants and cultural attractions are open, yet peaceful. Temperatures hover around the mid-60s.
