Long Weekend Choose between the north or the south. In the south: After spending 1 day in Maputo shopping for crafts, museum hopping, and sampling the nightlife, head to the Bazaruto Archipelago for 2-3 days to relax. Alternatively, in the north: spend 1 day resting in Pemba, followed by an overnight excursion to Mozambique Island and a few days relaxing in the Quirimbas Archipelago.
One Week In the south: split your time between Maputo (2-3 days) and the Bazaruto Archipelago (3 days), with a possible 2-night detour to Limpopo or Gorongosa parks. Alternatively, in the north: combine Pemba (1 day) and the Quirimbas islands (3 days) with an excursion to Mozambique Island (1 day) and two nights in the Niassa Reserve.
