Naples Golf Courses

Pro golfer Greg Norman designed Tiburon with a British Open course in mind – fast and firm in a beautiful natural setting. Stacked sod-wall bunkers and coquina (rock made of shell fragments) bunkers are unusual features of the two 18-hole courses: the Black, a 7,005-yard, par 72, and the Gold, a 7,228-yard, par 72. The swanky club is open to guests of Naples's two Ritz-Carlton resorts.

Lely's Classics course is members only, but its two well-regarded 18-hole courses are open to the public: the tree-lined Flamingo Island, with lakes factoring into 11 holes and a signature par three with an island green; and the newer Mustang, designed by former PGA heavyweight Lee Trevino (both par 72).

Check into La Playa's resort for access to this 18-hole, par-72 private course set amid the mangroves three miles east of the beachfront hotel. The onsite David Leadbetter Golf Academy offers one-hour lessons, full-day one-on-one training, and multi-day retreats on the palm-lined fairways.

Hedy Lamarr played here. Located just north of downtown, this beloved 6,488-yard, par-72 public course is the oldest in the city, originally constructed in the 1920s, redesigned in 1948, and later upgraded. With its Gulf of Mexico location, lovely old-growth trees, and lakes on six holes, it gives swankier clubs a run for the money.

Guests of the Naples Grande Beach Resort or the Edgewater Beach Hotel receive membership access to this private golf course, an 18-hole, 7,078-yard stunner set among live oaks and cypress on a 30-acre lake. There's also an onsite golf school and three practice greens. Note: No denim allowed.

Water, water everywhere – 16 lakes to be exact. Arrowhead Golf Club's scenic 18-hole public course (par 72) offers four sets of tee boxes, making it a good fit for all skill levels. Rates dip significantly in the off-season; discounts are offered for play after 11am as well. Get into the swing of things at their onsite golf academy; 30-minute and one hour lessons are available.
