Nassau and Paradise Island: Neighborhoods

Downtown Nassau Bay Street, the main drag, runs through the downtown waterfront, and finds authentically Bahamian shops and restaurants with the typical jewelry/t-shirt fare one expects upon exiting a cruise ship.

Cable Beach The traditional resort area, named because it was the site of the first telephone cable connecting the Bahamas with the U.S., in 1907. Check into one of the many hotels and stretch out on the wide, white-sand beach

Paradise Island Connected to Nassau by bridges, the small island is home to the island’s best resorts, including the renowned Atlantis. You’re likely to find an empty plot of beach just a short walk away.

Marina Village This little town of adorable shops, high-end restaurants, and even a Starbucks was built from nothing a few years back to give cruise passengers a place to wander, just outside of Atlantis.
