New York: Itineraries

Long Weekend Sure, you could easily spend 3-5 days in New York City, but a long weekend could also be spent touring the nationally renowned wineries in the Finger Lakes region, enjoying a beach weekend in Long Island, or staying in a cabin in the Adirondacks.

One Week Follow the New York Thruway, stopping for 2 days in the Catskills, 1 night in Saratoga Springs, 2 more in the Finger Lakes, and finally finishing at Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes. Or get away from it all, splitting 4 days between the Adirondack towns of Lake George, Lake Placid, and Saranac, and 3 boating in the Thousand Islands.

Two Weeks You’ll want 3-4 days in the Big Apple, then the rest is a grab bag. You’ll want at least 3 days to explore the Adirondacks, 2 for the Finger Lakes, and 2 for the Catskills and Hudson Valley. But you’ll only need 1 day each to get a taste of Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo.
