New Zealand: Itineraries

Long Weekend Spend two days exploring Auckland before heading south to Rotorua for two more, visiting the thermal areas and surrounding lakes. Drive through the Central Plateau to finish in Wellington. Or you can split your time between the buzzy little tourist towns of Queenstown and Wanaka.

One Week Spend a few days each in Auckland and Rotorua, then make the ferry crossing to the South Island and head to Kaikoura for whale watching. Continue on to Christchurch for your last day.

Two Weeks Auckland for three days, Rotorua for three, then stop in Taupo for the day before continuing through the Central Plateau to Wellington for two nights. Cross to the South Island and spend a night in Blenheim, exploring the Marlborough wine country. Head down to Kaikoura, then split the remainder of your trip between Christchurch, Mt Cook Village, Wanaka and Queenstown.
