Old Nice’s mazelike streets hold the best boutiques selling Provençal crafts, fabrics, and souvenirs ; Le Chandelier is the best place to stock up on local fabrics.

This animated, pedestrian-only plaza in Old Nice is the place to discover the art of market shopping in southern France. The highlight here is the Marché aux Fleurs, a bustling market selling colorful and fragrant flowers every day except Monday.

For the finest selection of upscale shops, head just west of Place Masséna to these two perpendicular streets, both of which are lined by chic boutiques of the ilk of Cartier, Hermès, Emporio Armani, and Chanel.

This five-level behemoth is the largest department store in town. Here, several hundred brand-name housewares and clothing items, ranging from the affordable to the luxurious, compete to pry your euros away.

If you’re set on bringing some olive oil home with you, mosey up the block from the Opéra to one of Nice’s oldest purveyors of the sun-kissed stuff.

Hit up this shop just steps from the Vieux Port for a delectable selection of crystallized fruit (a signature Nice sweet) and jams.
