Phoenix Getting There

Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is a major center for international and domestic airlines. The airport has one of the best airport art collections around which provides a nice distraction during layovers; free WiFi is also available. Although Scottsdale does have a small airport, it's only open to charter and private planes.

Phoenix is serviced by some 20 airlines, including United, Delta, and American; it also operates as a hub for US Airways and popular low-cost carrier Southwest. Non-stop flights are available from over 100 U.S. cities and international destinations. On a typical day, almost 1,500 flights carrying over 100,000 passengers arrive and depart from Sky Harbor.

Flight time to Phoenix is 1.5 hours from Los Angeles; 3.5 hours from Chicago; close to 4 hours from Atlanta; and about 5.5 hours from New York.
