Phoenix When To Go

Peak Season: January to March
Phoenix sunshine is best enjoyed January through March, when daytime temps linger in the high 60s/low 70s. It’s this ideal weather that has long made the region a popular winter playground. During this peak period, hotels across the board are booked at rates that are at the top end of their range. Book at least two months ahead of travel.
Off Season: June to August
Daytime temperatures in the 100s will have you panting and seeking A/C. Late summer sees dramatic thunderstorms – not the best way to explore the nature you came to see. On the upside, it’s easy to score fantastic deals on lodging, dining, and greens fees. Plus, crowds are pleasantly sparse.
Sweet Spot: September to December; April to May
Spring is our favorite time to visit, with fewer crowds, blooming desert plants and perfect 80- to 90-degree weather. Fall also offers the same pleasant temps. Both seasons are great to enjoy desert hikes, bike rides, and other outdoor activities.  During this shoulder season, good deals are available, but hotel and resort rates won’t drop to off-season lows.
