Phuket Getting There

Airports
Phuket International (HKT) is serviced by many charter flights from across Asia and Europe. Domestic flights arrive from Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport (DMK), so arriving from Northern America always means a transfer from Bangkok's new Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
Airlines
The globe’s major carriers – among them Thai Airways, ANA, Northwest, United, and EVA Air – get you to Bangkok, though only Thai Airways offers a non-stop flight to New York City’s JFK. Several low-budget carriers – including Air Asia, Nok Air, and One-Two-Go – get you from Bangkok to Phuket.
Flight Times
Flights from the West Coast to Bangkok take about 20 hours, depending on the connection. Add another 5 hours for connecting flights from the East Coast, though the non-stop flight from JFK takes only 17 hours. Flights from Bangkok to Phuket take about 80 minutes.
