Airport
Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) is Portugal’s main air hub for international and domestic flights. Other major airports include Porto’s Aeroporto Francisco de Sá Carneiro (OPO), Faro Airport in the Algarve (FAO), Funchal Airport (FNC) on the island of Madeira, and Ponta Delgada Airport (PDL) in the Azores.
Airlines
TAP Air Portugal and Continental are the only airlines that serve Lisbon with nonstop flights from Newark (EWR). Most major U.S. and European airlines fly to Lisbon, but with a change of planes somewhere in Europe.
Flight Times
6-8 hours nonstop from the East Coast to Lisbon; 11-15 hours from the West Coast to Lisbon (including one stop in New York or a European city).
