Peak Season: May to early-September The Spring and Autumn International Music Festivals bracket the tourist season. Summer can be hot and crowded (temperatures average low 70s), but you can still find internet hotel bargains. Book about 2 months in advance.

Off Season: November to February Winters can be chilly and damp – temperatures average 30°F – but hotels offer the best rates and it’s a great time to shop, museum hop and enjoy cultural performances (international jazz festival; Prague’s winter festival) without battling the masses.

Sweet Spot: March to April; late-September to October Normally mild temperatures (expect weather in the 40-50 degree range), modest hotel rates, and far fewer crowds make this a great time to visit.
