Provence: Itineraries

Long Weekend From Paris, take the high-speed train (TGV) to Avignon. Stay 2 nights, with a day-trip to Orange. Drive to Aix-en-Provence (stopping at any of the small towns along the way) and spend a day or 2 exploring the city.

One Week Explore Avignon’s old city one day, van Gogh’s St. Remy de Provence the next. Continue for a day of Roman Ruins in Arles and another in medieval Les Baux. Head to Aix-en-Provence for 2 nights; end in Marseille.

Two Weeks Spend about 2 days in each city – Avignon, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Orange, Les Baux, St. Remy – visiting the ruins, cathedrals, artists’ trails, shopping, and museums that they offer. End with 2 days to explore Marseille.
