Provence When To Go

Peak Season: July to August
During the peak season, the number of visitors to Provence increases exponentially. Parisians and foreigners head south for the warmth (temperatures average 75°F), and hotels and restaurants fill-up. Expect higher prices and crowds.
Off Season: November to March
Winter weather ranges from snow in the lower Alps to relative warmth (upper 40s) on the southern coast. Hotels, once closed over winter, now stay open and offer 15-20% discounts. Fewer crowds make sights more accessible.
Sweet Spot: April to June; September to October
These are the best months to visit. Prices are lower, 60-degree temperatures are pleasant, and the Parisian crowds are refreshingly absent. May offers blooming fields; September and October bring grape and olive harvests.
