Puerto Rico When To Go

Peak Season: mid-December to mid-April
Expect high prices and perfect beach weather. Locals might be spotted wearing sweaters when the temperature dips below 80. The periods around Christmas, most of February, and the Easter holiday are when crowds swell.
Off Season: June to October
Heat and humidity can be oppressive and this is prime hurricane season, but you’ll find hotel bargains, especially heading into September. Rain – always a factor in Puerto Rico’s mountains – peaks in San Juan May through October with afternoon showers, usually short in duration.
Sweet Spot: November to mid-December; mid-April to May
Just before and after high season you can expect good weather and hotel rates 20 to 40 percent below the peak season prices. Watch for airfare sales during these periods.
