Riga When To Go

Peak Season: May to September
Summer and fall are by far the most popular times to visit, with temperatures at their highest for the year (they average in the high 60s). The only drawback are the crowds, which tend to congregate in Old Town.
Off Season: November to February
Although slushy autumn weather, 25-degree temperatures and sunlight-starved days (the sun rarely shows its face for more than one hour a day) can be bummer, there’s plenty of life inside those gothic, Old Town buildings.
Sweet Spot: March to April; October
Plan your trip for late Fall or early Spring to avoid the crowds. These months find the countryside blooming with flowers and filled with cultural festivities. The weather fluctuates between high 40s and low 50s.
