San Juan: When To Go

Peak Season: December to April Visitors flock to Puerto Rico in the winter, when the weather is driest and the least muggy. Book 2-3 months in advance. Eighty-degree weather is typical year-round.

Off-Season: July to November Humid weather and potential hurricanes scare away crowds, but if a little wind and water doesn’t bother you (and you have good trip insurance), you can cash in on hotel discounts (some offer rates up to 60% off high-season prices).

Sweet Spot: May to June May and June, before storm season is in full swing, are great times to take advantage of heavily discounted prices and fewer crowds. Occasional showers don’t last long and the sun is always right around the corner.
