Expect crowds everywhere during the "Great Singapore Sale" in June, when shops throughout Singapore mark down their wares by up to 70 percent. This is also when the weather is at its driest. Expect 80-degree weather year-round.

Most travelers avoid Singapore from November to January when heavy rains soak the city.

Though these months are still rainy, they're not nearly as wet as November through January and see fewer crowds than between June and October. The annual Singapore International Film Festival screens hundreds of films from dozens of countries (held in April or May), and the end of May ushers in the Great Singapore Sale, a shopping extravaganza with retail reductions of up to 70 percent.
