South Africa Itineraries

Long Weekend
Spend two or three nights in cosmopolitan Cape Town and take in Table Mountain, the winelands, and beaches at Clifton or Camps Bay. Spend your last two or three days enjoying a safari at the Shamwari Game Reserve on the Eastern Cape. Here you can enjoy a “Big Seven” experience – where you can view the “Big Five” in addition to the Great White Shark and Southern Right Whale.
One Week
Start your journey with a few nights in and around Cape Town and visit the Cape of Good Hope, Robben Island, Table Mountain, and beaches at Clifton and Camps Bay. Spend a night at a winery in Paarl, Stellenbosch, or Franschhoek, before heading off to Hermanus for some whale watching. Then catch a flight to one of the world’s most famous game reserves, Kruger National Park. Enjoy a guided safari or go on a self-drive safari and try to spot all of the “big five” mammals.
Two Weeks
Enough time to sample the country’s highlights. Spend a couple nights in sprawling Johannesburg, known as the “Big Apple” of Africa. Visit the Apartheid Museum and Soweto’s historic sites and relax at a bona fide shebeen (tavern). Spend a day or two along the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga and then move on to nearby Kruger National Park and stay at one of the luxury game lodges within the park. Cap it off with a trip to Cape Town for great beaches, fantastic nightlife, and an overnight trip into the winelands.
