Switzerland Getting There

International flights come into both Zurich (ZRH) in northeast Switzerland near Germany, and Geneva (GVA) on the western edge bordering France. The country is also easily accessible via train and car from surrounding territories.

All major U.S. carriers including American, Continental, Delta, and United – and most international airlines – Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Swiss Air – serve GVA and ZRH. Surprisingly, both airports are small. From within Europe low-cost carriers like EasyJet provide additional options.

Direct flights from New York take 8 hours. Most flights have stopovers at bigger hubs like Paris, London, and Frankfurt – including layovers, expect about 16 hours from L.A. and 13-14 hours from Chicago and Houston.
