Peak Season: December to April Switzerland is primarily known for its winter season, when international skiers arrive in droves (book 3-4 months ahead). Prices jump during the weeks surrounding Christmas, the February school holidays, and Easter weekend.
Off Season: May to June; September to November Most mountain resorts close following Easter, opening again in summer (with another similar break in fall). Although open accommodations are hard to find, these can be the most beautiful – and the most economical – seasons of the year.
Sweet Spot: July to August Summer is the second high season, as warm weather tourism continues to grow in Switzerland. Mountain resorts have embraced year-round outdoor opportunities like climbing, mountain biking, and golfing. Crowds are fewer, but rates are still high.
