Top of the list for Sydney is the 158-room Park Hyatt, which earns its spot not just with the perfect location – facing the Opera House and harbor – but for its topnotch service and amenities, including 24-hour butler service. Snuggled into a bend in the harbor where Sydney was founded, the four-story property has a variety of room sizes and views. But, standard units extend a generous 495 square feet, lavished with cream leather, remote-controlled curtains, walk-in wardrobe, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto a balcony; rooms were subtly upgraded in 2004. There’s a small spa, gym, and rooftop pool; the airy restaurant is a popular meeting spot for modern Aussie-Mediterranean fusion cuisine.
