Tahiti: Getting There

Airport Faa'a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete is French Polynesia's only international airport. All other islands mentioned here have their own small airports, except Tahaa, which is accessed via neighboring Raiatea.

Airlines Faa'a (PPT) is served by Air Tahiti Nui, Hawaiian Airlines, Air France, Lan, Chile, Qantas, and Air New Zealand. The Society Islands and Tuamotos are serviced by Air Tahiti.

Flight Times Air Tahiti Nui flights typically depart Los Angeles and New York in the evening and arrive in Papeete around midnight. 8.5 hours from Los Angeles; 13 hours from New York. Air Tahiti makes several runs a day between the Society Islands and daily flights to the Tuamotos during high season (July-September).
