Tel Aviv Neighborhoods

The White City
Tel Aviv’s historic heart is filled with the world’s best collection of Bauhaus buildings – so extensive, in fact, that UNESCO declared the district a World Heritage Site.
Gan HaHashmal
Once Tel Aviv’s unofficial “Red Light” district, this newly hip quarter is home to the city’s most compelling collection of small-scale/homegrown retailers selling locally-made fashion, jewelry, and accessories – along with hip cafes, restaurants, and lounges.
Rabin Square
The area around Tel Aviv’s main square – named after former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin – abounds with sociable shops, cafés, and apartment buildings.
Florentine
South Tel Aviv neighborhood filled with grungy yet grand warehouses (many converted into lofts), small crafts shops selling spices and dried fruit, merchants from Central Asia, and students seeking affordable housing.
Rothschild Boulevard
Tel Aviv’s take on Park Avenue: a grand, green boulevard that’s home to old-money residents and large, new office buildings. This is a prime place to view Israeli architecture, both old and new.
Ramat Aviv
Home to Tel Aviv University (with its compelling mélange of architectural styles) and upper-middle-class families, this north Tel Aviv district is calm and residential. It's also home to the luxury brand-filled Ramat Aviv Mall.
Tayelet
The area along Tel Aviv’s Mediterranean-front promenade, from the city’s southern to northernmost points, is filled with some of the city's highest-end cafes, hotels, and apartments. The promenade runs the entire length of Tel Aviv's western shore and makes for a perfect morning power-walk.
Neve Tzedek
Built in 1887, 22 years before the city of Tel Aviv was established, this Jewish quarter is now home to million-dollar houses, charming cafés, and high-end jewelry, clothing, and crafts shops.
