A late-night supper club in the purist Middle Eastern tradition, Nanouchka is one part Central Asian pleasure palace, one part see-and-be-seen fashionista favorite. Nap in the afternoon, book a table for dinner and drinks, and prepare to stay all night.

Tel Aviv’s thriving gay scene is mostly limited to mega-clubs and discos. Evita, however, is one of the city’s rare gay lounges, with comfy furniture, a full dining menu, and an excellent range of cocktails.

Performance space established by Assif Tsahar, a New York-based jazz musician, and Ilan Volkov, the Israeli-born conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. The duplex club showcases the best of local and international music – from punk and rock to jazz and modern classical.

This open-air lounge is a great place to pass the time during warm summer evenings. Set on a pier in the Mediterranean, Shalvata serves an excellent selection of salads and grilled fish/meats along with its menu of fruity cocktails; closed during Winter.

This formerly small dance club and lounge got a big new home, with huge new weekly parties, when it moved to this east Tel Aviv industrial space in 2006. Look for weekly rotating DJs and themed party nights from funk to gay.
