Long Weekend Stay in Bangkok for a day or two and check out its sprawling temples, shop in its street markets and flashy malls, and dive into its still-legendary nightlife scene. Top it all off with a day trip to the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya or the serene riverside scene in Kanchanaburi. Add a day or two on the island paradise of Koh Samet for some tanning on the region’s best beaches.
One Week Check out the Bangkok musts for 2 days, then head into the jungle hills of Kanchanburi before jetting off to the tropical pearls of either Koh Samui or Phuket for 3 sun- and beach-filled days.
Two Weeks Fourteen days leave you enough time to discover the Kingdom on a more leisurely pace. After 2 days in Bangkok, take in Ayutthaya and Khao Yai National Park before heading north. Spend 5 days in Chiang Mai, visit hill-tribe people on a jungle trek, and become an elephant mahout in the Golden Triangle. Then it’s off to superb beaches, either on Koh Samui or Phuket.
