Thailand When To Go

Peak Season: November to January
Prices are higher than usual, but still lower than those in Europe or the United States. Never come without having booked a room and enjoy fabulous festivals, appealingly warm days, balmy nights, and no rain whatsoever (except for the Gulf Coast which receives light rainfall throughout the season).
Off Season: February to April
The heat is on, and all of Thailand cools off around Songkran (the Thai New Year a.k.a. the Water Festival). Beat the oppressive heat on tropical islands. Bargain hunters are in for a treat.
Sweet Spot: May to October
Daily showers and impossibly high humidity mean less tourists but more hassle. The Southern Gulf islands are relatively free of rain, so go there instead of dealing with flooded streets in Bangkok and the North. Hotel rates are low.
