The Big Island When To Go

Peak Season: December to April; July to August
The winter months (especially the last two weeks in December) and summer months (when kids are out of school) are the busiest and most chaotic seasons. March and early April also draw a spring-break crowd.
Off Season: May to June
Since the weather and water temps average 72 to 82 degrees year-round, there’s no downside to traveling during the off season. The upside is that you'll often find great rates.
Sweet Spot: September to November
Right after the kids head back to school (mid- September) and right before the holidays is a blissful time, with gorgeous weather and prices at their most affordable.
