Flights into Lhasa’s Gonggar airport (LXA) are routed through mainland China (usually Chengdu in Sichuan province) and, occasionally, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Airlines
There are no direct flights to Tibet from the U.S. Fly to mainland China on Air Canada, Air China, Northwest, or United Airlines first and then connect to Lhasa on Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, or Sichuan Airlines.

Flights from mainland China and Nepal take nearly 2 hours. Including layovers, total travel time is 20 hours from New York and 17 hours from Los Angeles.
