Turkey: Getting There

Airports Flights originating in the U.S. arrive at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport (IST), where domestic connections can be made on Turkish airlines. Flights from Europe also fly to Alanya, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Kayseri, and Izmir airports.

Airlines Delta and Turkish Airlines offer direct flights from the U.S. to Turkey, while United Airlines, Lufthansa, British Airways, and other European carriers offer flights to Istanbul via their European hubs. Turkish Airlines, Onurair, Atlasjet, Pegasus, and Sun Express are the domestic carriers.

Flight Times 11 hours from New York to Istanbul (including a stop in Europe); 16-18 hours from Los Angeles to Istanbul (including one possible stop in the U.S. and a stop in Europe).
