Tuscany: When To Go

Peak Season: June to early-September Apart from being the hottest month of the year (temperatures average in the 80s), Italy teems with visitors. Try to avoid August, when the entire country goes on holiday and many hotels, restaurants, and shops close.

Off Season: November to March There’s not much going on during these months – not only do many hotels and restaurants take a month or two off, the temperature also drops to about 50 degrees making the region less appealing to visitors.

Sweet Spot: April to May; late-September to October Fall and spring bring milder temperatures (in the low 70s) and thinner crowds. Because the lines are shorter, the heat isn’t so stifling, and hotel rates are slightly cheaper, this is the perfect time to visit cities like Florence.
