U.S. Virgin Islands: When To Go

Peak Season: Mid-December to April Winter is busiest (and most expensive) thanks to sunny skies and starry nights. Daytime temperatures run in the low 80s, with the thermometer dipping down into the 70s at night. Reserve in advance.

Off Season: August to late-October Hurricane season runs from June through November, ramping up in mid-August and winding down by October’s end. Some businesses (restaurants, shops, several hotels) close, but hoteliers often offer great rates. Two words: trip insurance.

Sweet Spot: May to July; November to mid-December Summer brings honeymooners and families drawn by lower rates and temperatures that seldom hit 90. The weather is pleasant, but expect some showers. Savvy visitors can find plenty of deals.
