Near the village of Madar, explore these two smaller bodies of water that fed into the Fateh Sagar, one of the city’s three main lakes. Walk along leafy trails and take in views of the surrounding area.

This secluded 15th-century fort has seen many armies attempt to conquer it; only a combined attack by the armies of one-time neighboring kingdoms Amber and Marwar (with some help from Mughal king Akbar) was ever successful. Today, the site offers panoramic vistas and a palpable sense of its haunting history.

Supported by 1,444 intricately carved pillars, this Jain temple, completed in the 15th century, is said to be one of India’s most exquisite. Not a single pillar blocks devotees from viewing the marble statue of Lord Adinath.
