Vancouver: Getting There

Airports Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is Western Canada’s main air gateway. Abbotsford (YXX), which calls itself “Vancouver’s hassle-free alternative,” is 45 miles southeast of the city.

Airlines Air Canada and Canadian budget carrier WestJet are most prominent at YVR. Most major U.S. carriers – including Alaska, Northwest, Horizon, United and Continental – provide regular service north of the border.

Flight Times Less than 1 hour from Seattle’s SeaTac Airport, just over 2 hours from San Francisco; 5.5 hours from New York if you manage to snag a rare direct flight on Continental, United, or Cathay Pacific.
