Venice When To Go

Peak Season: June to September
The throngs of tourists begin their annual assault on Venice in June and stay through September. Sure it’s hot, crowded, and expensive – but it’s also when all the festivals happen and the city is bursting with energy. Evenings tend to be far more pleasant during this time, making the city’s nightlife that much more attractive.
Off Season: April; May; October
The best weather is in late spring (April and May) and October. With lovely breezes along the canal and a pleasant lack of tour groups, these are the best months to go.
Sweet Spot: November to March
The cold and rain descends on Venice, but many locals swear the city is at its most beautiful and romantic when deserted. If you plan a trip for the bemasked Carnevale celebration (February) be sure to bring sweaters and boots.
