Heavenly — California’s biggest resort, Heavenly Mountain Resort straddles the state line between California and Nevada. Fronting the south shore of Lake Tahoe, the area tops Tahoe’s highest elevation at just over 10,000 feet and comprises more than 4,800 skiable acres with 94 runs served by 30 lifts. It’s about a 75-minute drive from Reno’s airport and its proximity to the Nevada border’s casinos and resorts offer plenty of nightlife, gambling, and first-rate entertainment.
