Denver Money-Saving Tips

Altitude sickness

Denver’s mile-high altitude means thinner, drier air that can cause newcomers headaches, dizziness, and fatigue. Drink plenty of water, go easy on alcohol, apply sunscreen, wear sunglasses, and ease into physical activity.

Appropriate dress

Pack short sleeves and sweaters: Denver temps climb and fall steeply on any given day. Casual dress – jeans and jackets, designer T-shirts – prevails in restaurants, theaters and clubs.

Book ahead

Tickets to Denver’s concerts, plays, operas, and other nocturnal entertainments sell out in advance, so make reservations early.

Rent skis in town

Ski equipment rentals cost less at downtown outfitters than they will at the resorts. In the city, King Soopers stores sell lift tickets at lower prices than you’ll find at the resorts.

Coloradoans take their teams seriously. Don’t knock the Broncos! And book way in advance as Bronco games sell out fast ( See the Colorado Rockies play in Coors Field and stop off before or after at one of LoDo’s many pubs. Rockies tickets are usually easy to score.
