Built in 1888, the Cypress House wears its weathered wood exterior with pride, eschewing the pastel paint that dominates most other Conch-style mansions on the island. A wide veranda spans the front, while a tropical garden surrounds a 40-foot-long heated lap pool in the private interior courtyard. The 22 rooms, divided between three buildings, have an eclectic mix of wicker and antique furnishings. Complimentary breakfast and a nightly cocktail hour contribute to the convivial atmosphere. The B&B is a block away from Duval Street and a few more from Mallory Square, site of nightly sunset celebrations.
