Comprised of 27 rooms spread throughout an idyllic four-house compound (one house dates back to the 1880s), the Marquesa Hotel boasts an upscale, traditional B&B feel. Sherbet-color pastels give the intimate property a cheery feel inside and out. Choose a room overlooking the two pools and lush garden courtyard rather than one with a street view for peace and quiet. The “no guests under 14” policy and the contemporary American restaurant Café Marquesa kick up the romance factor. Service is friendly and refined. The Marquesa now also manages six self-catering cottages (909 Windsor Lane; www.keywestmarquesacottages.com), each with three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a private heated plunge pool.
