Getting to Miami

Airports

Miami International Airport (MIA) is the closest airport to the Miami area. Alternatively, you could fly into the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport (FLL), which is only 40 minutes away by car.

Airlines

Nearly every major airline flies into Miami or Fort Lauderdale, including budget companies like JetBlue, Southwest, and Spirit.

Flight Times

Flight times to South Florida run about 2-3 hours from the Northeast; 3-4 hours from the Midwest; and 5-6 hours from the West Coast.

Ground Transportation

Amtrak's Palmetto and Silver Service trains connect New York to Miami with stops along the eastern seaboard. Greyhound buses stop in four locations throughout metropolitan Miami. Tri-Rail, the South Florida commuter train, links Miami with Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach.
