Savannah Neighborhoods

Historic District/Victorian District/Downtown

Tourists and upscale Savannahians enjoy the centuries-old oak canopy, antebellum mansions, and horse-drawn carriages in one of the largest urban National Historic Landmark Districts in the country. The more than twenty gracious one-acre park squares are speckled with visitors, Savannah’s elite, and hipster art students.

Starland District

Artists and the creative-minded promote urban community in this trendy up-and-coming neighborhood through their farmers market, dog park, and businesses with a strong emphasis on style. Most notable are Back in the Day Bakery, various small art galleries, vintage stores, and Le Chai wine shop.

Baldwin Park/Parkside/Midtown

Growing home to eclectic twenty- and thirty-somethings who flock to the pre- and post-Depression era homes on quarter-acre lots. Inviting streetscapes are easily accessible from 37th Street and Victory Drive, the two main thoroughfares that breach the neighborhoods.

Ardsley Park

An exquisitely manicured community characterized by its mid-century charm. Homogenous streets are lined with quaint, overpriced bungalows home to a contrasting array of young families, yuppies, established old-money Savannahians, and gays.

Southside

Over half of Greater Savannah’s residents inhabit the less distinctive Southside neighborhoods. Recognizably the gateway to Savannah’s suburbia, this area boasts 1960s ranch-style and prairie homes, nondescript apartment complexes, and mall sprawl.

The Islands

Acutely coastal, Skidaway, Whitemarsh, Wilmington, Dutch, Isle of Hope, and Tybee Islands are resplendent with breathtaking dock-dotted marsh views and pricey waterfront properties.
