Getting to Sugarloaf

Getting There

Set among Maine’s Western Mountains in the Carrabassett Valley, Sugarloaf is situated 4.5 hours north of Boston (about 240 miles) and east of Montreal (just over 200 miles away). Flights and bus service connect via Portland, ME (PWM; a 3-hour drive) and Bangor, ME (BGR; a 2.5-hour drive); though Bangor is slightly closer it receives flights from only a handful of cities. For drivers arriving from the south, take I-95 North to Augusta, Exit 112B (formerly 31B), then follow Route 27 North through Farmington and Kingfield to Sugarloaf.
