The historical Bostonian façade dating back to late 19th century might fool you, but step inside the Charlesmark Hotel and you’ll discover classic modernist decor and lots of high-tech goodies. The hotel’s stellar central Back Bay location at Copley Square is a great selling point, as is the mod Charlesmark Lounge, which is popular for its outdoor patio and cocktails, and complimentary daily breakfast. The 40 guest rooms feature custom-made oak furniture, designed to enhance functionality in the compact spaces. Those who need room to stretch out should steer clear of the standard rooms which at just 144 square feet only have room for a double bed. Larger rooms feature queen-size beds as well as a small sofa, which pulls out into a twin bed. Bathrooms are decked out with imported Italian ceramic tiles and custom built vanities – music lovers will especially appreciate the bathroom stereo speakers.
